How VoltGlass® Works
VoltGlass® is a patented Czech technology that transforms ordinary insulating glass into an intelligent heating element. Unlike traditional heating systems that heat the air in a room, VoltGlass® uses the principle of radiant heat – the same way the sun warms us.
Technology Principle
The basis is tempered low-emissivity glass with an invisible conductive layer – 50–60× thinner than a human hair. The patented manufacturing process ensures even heating across the entire surface.
When connected to 230 V mains, the layer converts electricity into infrared radiant heat. This heats people and surfaces directly – the air is heated subsequently.
Key Principle
VoltGlass® transforms the window into an active heating surface. The glass transfers heat through radiation while simultaneously creating a thermal barrier on its surface that prevents heat from escaping through the window. As a result, it doesn't cool the interior but helps keep the heat inside.
VoltGlass® Radiant Heat
Infrared radiation does not primarily heat the air, but transfers energy directly to surfaces and people. The result is:
- Higher thermal comfort
- Elimination of the cold glass effect
- You feel the heat within seconds of switching on
- Heating of objects and heat returned back to the room
What Makes VoltGlass® Unique
Transparency
The heating layer is 50–60× thinner than a human hair. The glass looks like ordinary insulating glass – no visible elements, no wires, no changes in optical properties. The heating system is completely transparent.
Building Integration
Installed like standard insulating glass – in new or existing windows. 230 V power without transformers. No visible heating elements, clean interior.
Elimination of Cold Surfaces
Large glazed areas often mean a feeling of cold. VoltGlass® eliminates this – the window becomes a source of heat.
Heat Direction
Low-emissivity coating directs heat inward. Minimum escapes, maximum flows inside. The glass functions as both heating and insulating element.
